The Invitation
I don't often repost full length pieces of other's writing, but I was riffling through my old cards the other day- and this poem my grandmother shared a few years back struck me and spoke to my current thoughts on life in an age where 'what you do' is thought to be equivalent to 'who you are.'
The Invitation
It doesn't interest me
what you do for a living.
I want to know what you ache for,
and if you dare to dream
of meeting your heart's longing.
It doesn't interest me how old you are.
I want to know you will risk
looking lik a fool for love,
for your dreams,
for the adventure of being alive.
The Invitation
It doesn't interest me
what you do for a living.
I want to know what you ache for,
and if you dare to dream
of meeting your heart's longing.
It doesn't interest me how old you are.
I want to know you will risk
looking lik a fool for love,
for your dreams,
for the adventure of being alive.
